Google My Business video uploads now available

Allyson Wright from the Google My Business team recently announced that the video upload feature is now available for business owners in the Google My Business dashboard.
Business owners can view videos added by customers and upload videos about their business for customers to view.
The maximum video length is 30 seconds, and after a video is uploaded, it can take up to 24 hours for it to be visible on the business listing in Google Maps or the local web search results.
It will be interesting to see what appears in the different locations once frequent users get to understand how this feature can be used to good advantage.

The Importance of a Company Page!

LinkedIn Marketing Solutions promoted this article again recently.

LinkedIn Company Pages 2017

LinkedIn Best of Company Pages 2017

By doing that, it sort of confirms my recent prediction that 2018 will see Company Pages growing in importance.
A Company Page can be useful in raising brand awareness, announcing career opportunities, and promoting your product and service offers.
You may find it useful to see the examples.

Maps in Space!

Google recently introduced exploration of the International Space Station in Street View in Google Maps.
This combines 2 of my favourite elements, as I find both are fascinating to explore.
Please share this with anyone you feel would find it useful and interesting.

30 day Business Marketing Journey into Google

You all know how I have been emphasizing the importance of both Google and Reviews for quite some time.

Here is an Article ( and much more ) by one of the leading experts in this field, Martin Shervington.

It will build into a comprehensive catalogue, with hyperlinks and is the start of a journey that demonstrates everything I have been saying much more eloquently and in great detail.Google-For-Business

Top scams of 2015 and how to avoid them

A number of different people, both at network meetings and on emails, have mentioned that they have received scams of some type recently.

This article from Which? Magazine, published earlier this month, is an excellent reference for what to look out for.

Google Mice Algorithm update 21 April

Are you aware that Google is making a major change to their algorithm on 21 April.

On Tuesday, Google start their MAJOR venture into mobile platforms.

You need your result to look like the picture shown.

Google announced back in February

“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”

Using Analytics

After attending a number of Network Meetings and recent discussions with Clients, I observed that Analytics are not receiving the attention they deserve.

I remembered seeing a great Article on the topic, so I located it and would like to share it here.

The important point to remember is that you should be measuring as much information as you possibly can, but at least this article on GMB points in the right direction.

Colony Network Workshop Appreciation

Google My Business

Yesterday, I attended an excellent Linked in Workshop presented by Charlie Hutton and arranged by Kirsty James of The Colony Networking Group, in conjunction with

Connecting Cheshire.

I would suggest that anyone in Cheshire that has not looked into this fully funded service should go to and check eligibility and availability, as the current funding ends in May.

Unfortunately, time did not allow the Google element to be presented, but as the latest upgrade of Google My Business has an easy to follow and use dashboard, go to their support site at for a wealth of information.
